Terms of Service
30 July 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Vaelum. Using the service means you accept them. They are meant to be read, not survived.
1. What Vaelum is
Vaelum is a personal AI assistant with a memory that persists between conversations. You reach it through vaelum.ai or through a messaging platform you connect, and it can act on your behalf in external services you choose to connect, such as a calendar or a spreadsheet.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to use Vaelum.
- Give accurate account details and keep your access to the account secure.
- You are responsible for what happens through your account, including what you ask the assistant to do.
3. Acceptable use
Do not use Vaelum to:
- break the law, or produce material that is illegal where you are;
- reach data or accounts you have no right to;
- attack, overload, reverse-engineer or otherwise interfere with the service;
- resell access or run it as a backend for another product, without our written agreement;
- harm other people — harassment, malware, targeted deception.
4. Connected services
- You connect external services with your own credentials, and you decide what the assistant may reach.
- The assistant acts on your instructions. What it does in a connected service — writing to a spreadsheet, moving an event — is your action, taken through a tool.
- You can disconnect any service at any time, from Vaelum or from that service's own settings.
- We are not responsible for those services themselves, nor for changes they make to their APIs or terms.
5. What the assistant produces
The assistant's output is generated. It can be wrong, out of date, or confidently mistaken, and it can misread what you asked for. Do not rely on it for legal, medical, financial or safety-critical decisions without checking with a qualified person.
Where it acts rather than answers — creating a document, editing a spreadsheet, sending something — review the result. You remain responsible for what you asked it to do.
6. Subscriptions and payment
- Paid plans are billed through an external payment provider and renew automatically until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Prices can change, but not retroactively: a change applies from your next billing period, and we tell you before it does.
Statutory refund and withdrawal rights in your country apply regardless of anything written here.
7. Availability and changes
- Vaelum is run with care but without an uptime guarantee. It can be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.
- Features can change, and some may be withdrawn. Where a change is material we give notice in the product.
8. Ending it
- You can stop using Vaelum whenever you like, and ask us to delete your account — see the Privacy Policy.
- We can suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or that we are legally required to close. Unless it is urgent, we tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.
9. Disclaimer and liability
The service is provided as is, without warranties beyond those the law gives you and that cannot be excluded.
So far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profit, lost data, lost opportunity — and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for Vaelum in the twelve months before it arose.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Governing law
Vaelum is operated by an individual rather than a company, and these terms are governed by the law of the operator's country of residence. Whatever that means in practice, the mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in continue to apply to you, and you can bring a claim in your own courts wherever the law gives you that right.
11. Changes to these terms
If these terms change we update the date at the top. Continuing to use Vaelum after a change means you accept the new version; if you do not, stop using the service and ask us to close your account.
